In the junior round Taupiri easily defeated Ngaruawahia at Taupiri, the score being Taupiri 24, Ngaruawahia 0. For Taupiri tries were scored by Miller, Buss, A.' Gibb, G. Lcggett, Jackaways. The winners a good combined game. '' \ Huntly juniors journeyed to Rotowaroi and played Rotowaro, a new team in the competition. After a good game Huntly won by 16 points "to 11» ,1 • In the, senior contest Taupiri beat Huntly at Taupiri by six points to two. ThQ game was a stubborn and wellcontested one, and although both teams tried to open up the play the defence was usually too sound. For Taupiri Littlewood and Bishop scored good tries; both from passing rushes. For Huntly S. Rayner landed a goal from a- free kick. Mr A. Rogers controlled the' game.
At Ngaruawahia Orini were rather badly defeated by the local team by 22 points to nil. Orini were weakened by the loss/ of several prominent players, otherwise they would have made a much better showing. Mr R. T. Hill was referee.
In the colts' match Huntly easily defeated Ngaruawahia by 24 points to 2.
