The Auckland Acclimatisation Society proposes closing down their game farm at Cambridge. An effort is being made by the local society to establish a similar farm at Hamilton, and inquiries are being instituted as to a suitable site. • Entries for the written examinations for the Associated Board of the Royal Academy of Music and Royal College of Music, London, will close with* the hon. local representative, Mr Theo. A. Lucas, on Tuesday, May 1. The examinations have been postponed until June 16 to avoid clashing with other institutions.

' An excellent scheme for beautifying the town by the planting of extensive beds of daffodils and similar bulbs was decided on by the Hamilton Beautifying Society. About 500 bulbs have already been donated to the society, and anyone interested in the work of beautifying the town may leave bulbs at Mr **Fotman's shop, Victoria Street. As it will take some thousands of bulbs to give effect to the scheme suggested it is hoped that the appeal will meet with a generous response. It is intended to plant bulbs in the Memorial Park, on Ferry Bank, and other places.
