FATE OF RUAKURA.

MORE SATISFACTORY NEWS. , By Telegraph.—Press Association. AUCKLAND, Friday. It was announced in the last report of the Agricultural Department that the Department was considering the advisability of disposing of the State experimental farms. As one of them, Uuakura, was situated in the Auckland Province, the Education and Agricultural authorities were considerably agitated. Though botn bodies have had considerable correspondence with, and made personal representations to the Minister and officials of his department, the activities at Ruakura have rapidly declined, and at present there are only four cadets, though there is accommodation for 03.

The Agricultural Educational committee met this morning, and reported a more favourable disposition on the part of the Department towards the continuance of the farm school. The committee received further reports from the Minister and his department, and after some discussion, passed the following resolution:— "That this committee is gratified to learn that steps are being taken to continue the farm school at Ruakura on more extended lines, and hope that at an earlv date it will be practicable to establish for youths a permanent school with a qualified staff."
