CHALLENGE BHIELD MATCH HAMILTON DEFEAT TAUMARUNUI. \ The cricket match for the Waikato Challenge Shield, between Taumafunui and Hamilton elevens, which Was at Seddorr. Park yosterday, resulted in a win for Hamilton by 83 runs on the first innings. Hamilton's opening score of 144 runs was responded to with only 61 by the visitors. In the second strike Hamilton ran to 188 runs, to which Taumarunui made a greatly improved response, ha,ving 169 runs up for eight wickets when stumps were drawn. Details are: —

Jones 22) defeated Frankton, 29; Southwell 69 (Hay 26} defeated Technicai, 64 (Denz 24); East 43 (Mclntyre 12) defeated FalrfleW 22. Whltlora defeated West by seven wickets, West making 37 (Roy 12). For Whltiora Hawkins 12 and Donaldson 19 (retired) were the chief scorers.
