HAMILTON v. TAUMARUNUI.

At Seddon Park to-day a game was played between Hamilton and Taumarunui elevens for the South Auckland. Challenge Shield. After the heavy rain of the night hours the wicket was very sodden, and matting was used. R. Carter made the best stand of the home batsmen, and, after getting set, played the howling with confidence, and ran to 59 not out. Details of play to the adjournment are: —

ADELAIDE, February 20. The Sheffield Shield match betweep Victoria and South Australia was continued in fine weather on a good wicket. Victoria’s first innings closed for 386, Mayne scoring 40, Carlton 20, and Liddicut 28. Whitty took three wickeits for 72 runs. South Australia, who scored 275 in the first innings, have lost five wickets for 209. A. Richardson 32, Hill 39, and Murray 110. ADELAIDE, February 21.

In the Sheffield Shield match, Victoria v. South Australia, the former won by seven wickets. South Australia’s second - innings yielded 303; and Victoria compiled 193 for the loss of three wickets.
