We quote: Extra choice oxen to 245, choice and prime oxen 18s to 235, rough and plain oxen 13s to 17s, young cow and heifer beef 10s to 20s, other cow beef 12s to 15s (alt per 1001 b).

No extra heavy prime steers were penned. Steers, heavy prime £8 7s Od to £9 ss, medium prime, £7 7s (id to £8 .ss, light prime £0 to £7 os, unfinished steers £4 10s to £5 17s 6d, young cows and heifers £3 17s 6d to £6 ss, other cows £2 to £3 15s; 2 extra heavy prime cows realised £7 2s Od each.

Calves were penned in % average numbers, selling at improved prices. We quote: Fat wethers (shorn)-' £1 7s 6d, fat ewes (shorn) £1 6s 6d, woolly*, hoggets £1 7s, store hoggets 19s 6d, good fat cows £4 17s 6d to £5 19s, lighter weights £3 4s to £4 12s 6d, empty cows, fresh condition £2 6s to £2 Bs. 18-mth heifers £3 2s 6d to £3 15s, yearling heifers £2 6s to £2 7s 6d, heifers at profit £6 10s to £9. There was again a large yarding of fat and store pigs, which met with strong competition. Baconers £2 13s to £2 17s 6d, fat porkers £2 to £2 12s 6d, store porkers £1 12s to £1 17s, slips £1 8s to £1 16s, weaners 12s to 19 s.
