WAIKATO SHOW

FINE SHOWING OF LIVE STOCK

With an excellent start in the way of weather, the Waikato A. and P. Association opened its 31st annual Show at Claudelands yesterday. The bulk of the judging was done during the day, leaving only the equestrian events, including the competition for the 150guinea championship hunter prize, to be competed to-day. The people who attend on the first day of any agricultural show are usually associated in some way with the exhibits, but today, being “People’s Day,” there is a big concourse of people at the grounds, which look animated and gay in the bright sunlight. The grand parade took place at mid.-day, and proved a magnificent sight. All the best blood of the district was represented in the long line of stock that paraled the ring, and the sight was one for general ad* miration. Horses.
