NEW ZEALAND SHIELD MATCH. MANAWATU DEFEATS AUCKLAND. The Auckland and Manawatu representatives met at'Palmerston North on Saturday in a match for the New Zealand Shield. A well-fought, even game resulted in a win for Manawatu by two goals to nil. The Auckland backs were a strong combination, but failed to hold the local forwards, who played a willling game throughout.
