TWO AMERICANS FAIL. FURTHER ATTEMPT PROJECTED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received September 4, 10.25 a.m. LONDON, September 3. Sam Richards and Charles Toth, Americans, started from Dover to swim the Channel on Saturday night.. Richards abandoned the attempt after covering live miles. Toth, after being eleven hours in Hie water, gave up liis Insk when live miles from Grisnez, owing I/, strong wind and heavy seas. Tom Morris, the Australian, did not start. Henry Sullivan, another American, -postponed his attempt.
