WANGANUI WOOLLEN MILLSPETITION FOR SPECIAL MEETING. NOT- TO BE PRESENTED. WELLINGTON, Friday. A petition for a special meeting of the Wanganui Woollen Mills Company is not now being presented. Mr Doherty states that 369 shareholders expressed themselves in favour of liquidation by sending in to him requisitions for a special general meeting, and this is in considerable excess of the number required for obtaining the same, but the retiring directors having been’elected by a substantial majority, and the liquidation requiring a threefourths majority to carry it, he considers the matter should now he dropped, and is satisfied that a grcal amount of good will spring from the action already taken.
