STRIKE AT HAVRE
CLASHES WITH POLICESTATE OF SIEGE PROCLAIMED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) 'Received August 25, 12.U0 p.m. PARIS, August ,27. Arising out of Ihe strike al Havre, rioting broke out. The police charged 111 e strikers, who barricaded the streets. Shots were exchanged and three strikers were killed and thirty, mostly police, wounded. Later the rioters entrenched themselves in the Frankiyn Circle. A state of siege will be proclaimed and military reinforcements are expected. Nevertheless the strike is now conlined lo engineers and blockers. The trams and taxis are running. ••-...
