PREMIER'S WAR ROOK

NO PERSONAL GAIN. MR LLOYD GEORGE'S DECISION (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received August 28, 12.30 p.m.

LONDON. August. 27

The Sunday Times, which is owned by the firm" that purchased the Ensli'sh serial book rights of Mr .Lloyd George's book, states that his decision to give the whole of the- profits to charities is entirely free from any ad cartandum intent or to meet the acrimonious criticism which the announcement of publication evoked in certain quarters. The simple fact is that in the course of writing the book Mr Lloyd George has been so distressed by the poignancy of the story he has to tell, and by the terrible sacrifice of the nation's life blood involved in the struggle, that the idea of any personal gain in tho matter bocame impossible. He felt that he would despise himself if he allowed himself to think of the book in such terms. The story of the nation's sacriflce shall only be told for the nation's gain.
