WOOL TORS CASE
LENGTHY PROCEEDINGS. (United Press Association.) SYDNEY, August 26. Mr Campbell, one of the counsel for the defence, concluded his speech in the wool tops case. It lasted eight days, and two other counsel have intimated that they expect their speeches to lake two and'four days respectively. Counsel for plaintiffs anticipate that four days will suffice for them to reply. The case since Its start has cost £SOO daily.
This case, which has occupied the attention of the High Court for some considerable lime past, arose out of a dispute concerning the terms-arranged between the parties in connection with the manufacture of wool tops in Australia. The claim is for £532,000 for breach of agreement and amounts paid by plaintiffs. Plaintiffs are the Commonwealth Government and Central Wool Committee, and the defendants the Colonial Spinning and Weaving Co., Ltd.
