OBITUARY
MR W. A. BEESTON. The death took place at Newcastle, New South Wales, on Saturday, of Mr W. A. Beeston, formerly manager of the Hamilton branch of the Bank of Australasia. For years the deceased gentleman suffered ill-health, and when he was promoted from accountant at the Bank's Wellington branch to the position of manager at Hamilton, in July, 11)10, he took a turn for the betler, until lie had an attack of pneumonia, which left him considerably weakened. He also found his sight impaired, and suffered considerably as a result, and found :t necessary to have an operation, when one of his eyes had to be. removed, while lie completely lost tile sight ol the other. Prior to this his general health had' necessitated him relinquishing his position at the bank, and in May of this year his wife, who showed the greatest devotion throughout his illness, accompanied him back to his home at Newcastle, New South Wales, where, as already stated, he passed away on Saturday at the age of 50 years. Mr Beeston Was held in the very highest respect in Hamilton, where his death will givo rise to a feeling of general regret. He leaves a wife and two 'young sons,
