THE “KING OF BOHEMIA.”
Known as the “King of Bohemia,” and familiar to every one who has khotvii the On artier Latin (Paris) lor the past thirty years, Adalbert Biart de Glierardlne, noble ancl vagabond, died at the Hospital Cochin, and was buried in the family vault. Students were the chief mourners. If lie was poor It was because he chose to be so. Many attempts were made to induce him to live a conventional life, but he remained a lover of nocturnal disputations, and could he heard declaiming in the afternoon in the Luxembourg Gardens, and at night in the cafes dr on the benches of the Boulevard saint-Michel. He rarely slept indoors. Of real culture and full of curious knowledge, this last of the Bohemians was chiefly proud of having been one of tile companions of Verlaine, and he related many anecdotes of his association with the poet.
