THEFTS ADMITTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. HASTINGS, Monday. Montague Thomas Saline Pasley, an accountant with Messrs Hoadley, Son and Stewart, merchants, was committed for sentence to the Supreme Court on seven counts of stealing £471 from the firm. Accused pleaded guilty. BURGLARY AT DUNEDIN, DUNEDIN, Monday. The office of the Tramways Department was entered between Saturday night and Sunday morning, and £450 abstracted, being the bulk of Saturday’s takings. About £IOO in small change was left. The cloor of the strong room was not forced. Either a duplicate key or a skeleton key was used, CHORAL SOCIETIES* WELLINGTON, Monday. . At a conference of Choral Societies to-day, delegates being present from 'Auckland, Stratford, Palmerston North, Masterton, Hastings, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, it was decided to form an Associated Choral Society of New Zealand. A resolution was passed against an amusement tax on the societies, and it was decided to send a deputation to the Prime Minister.
