The following barometer and thermometer readings, taken from 9 a.m. daily, and weather conditions, are kindly supplied by Mr James jjremner:—• Barometer: Saturday 30.0 Monday 29.95 Thermometer: Friday 68 32 Saturday .... 58 28 Saturday and Sunday were fair, with light variable winds and frost in the early mornings. Mean temperature 43 degrees. Barometer unsteady at 29.95. Indications are for fair weather to-day, and probably to-morrow, with variable winds and warmer weather conditions following. The Weather Bureau wires: The indications are for northerly winds, moderate to strong prevailing, and freshening. A storm appears to be approaching from the west, chiefly affecting the South Island. The weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled, with irain following. Barometer falling.
