EXECUTIVE AND LEGISLATORS. MR MASSEY SPEAKS HIS MIND, (By Telegraph.—Press Association). WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Dominion executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union held a meeting yesterday. The press were not admitted. The representatives of the union placed before members of Parliament who were present (he union’s'ideas on questions of hanking, marketing of produce, and the shipping of produce. Mr Massey, who arrived during the meeting, said he slrongly objected to some of pic slatemenl.s which had been made. They had no right, to go about the country as whiners and croakers, as they were endangering the country's credit. In support of the view he had expressed of the hopeful position of Ihe country, Mr Massey read a cable hi' had just received from London, amioune ing lhat wool had risen in price. The matter of taxation also was touched on by Mr Massey, who declared that the rate of taxation had nol been increased; any increase had been in the value of land. The members of the union said what they objected to was having- to pay more money by way of taxation.
