Workers’ Union now advises shearers and shcdluuids throughout the Dominion to make engagements at the best rales they can obtain. This means that the men can commence work at award rates, but wherever circumstances warrant a higioT rate it can be demanded. The award provides only the minimum rat-’, below which employers cannot pay. Had Ilm Shearers’ Council been advised,' or anticipated, that Judge decision was to be given a Dominijn application, the shearing trouble, as far as it had gone, could have been averted.”
