SIR T. BEECHAM’S ESTATE
o PRODUCES £90,000 A YEAR. LIABILITY OF £1,753,000. BENEFICIARIES MUST WAIT. Received October 13, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, October 12. The bankruptcy examination of Sir Thomas Beecham revealed that he lost £104,000 over his opera production. He estimated that his interest under his father’s will w'ould produce nearly £90,000 a year, hut the liabilities of the executors of the estate in connection with the purchase of the Covent Garden estate amounted to £1,750,000, and the executors felt they must not pay the beneficiaries until they had dealt with the liabilities of the estate.
