THE WHANGARES MEETING. (By Telegraph.—Press Association). WHANGAREI, Friday. The weather was line except for light showers on the opening day of the Whangarei Racing Club’s meeting. The attendance was good, and the course was in good order. Results;— Maiden Plate. —Polini 1, Daotylis 2, Tireless 3. Also started: Lady Kermin, Golden Abbey, Fencer, Lady Hill, Commission, Space, Pcngwen, Anna Roon, Tetoki Jack, Smoko Concert, Gamp Guardian, Impudence, Lady Varco, Raretoa, Makura, Regality, Pukehiera, King Pellicule, Royal Babe, Sculptor, Election, Mangawai, Mona Bruce, Rose Thurnham, Battle Plane, St. Waipa, Kiarito, Stirrup Cup, Baldoyle, Whitianga, Manlapoto gelding. Won by two lengths. Time 1.11 2-5. Daotylis was favourite. Huanui Hurdles. —Poanui 1, Welshman 2, Signature 3. Also started: Kiriwinning, John Bunny, No Mistake, Otara, Royal Prince, Blueform, Guardian, Rome. Won by a length and a half. Time 3.26. Poanui was favourite, Kensington Handicap.—Fife and Drum 1, Tresor 2, Bezant 3. Also started: Fincop, Glad Tidings, Winning Lass, Penguin, Proxyform. W 7 on by two lengths. Time 1.17 2-5. Bezant was favourite.

Whangarei Cup.—Forest Gold 1, Archie 2, Rockfield 3. Also started: Spanner, Dead Sweet, Prince Charleroi, No Bother, Lady Energy, Gold Plane, Prince. Carl, Recreation. About three furlongs from home Forest Gold took charge, and stalling off a strong challenge by 'Archie, won by a length. Rockfield was three-quarters of a length away, third, just in front of No Bother and Prince Karl. Time 2.23 4-5. Archie was favourite. Hikurangi Hack Handicap.—Boomaday J, Brodick 2, Marble Bell 3. Also started: Pepin, Ohiti, Penniless, Rose Thurnham, Narrow Neck, Glen Lcckie. Boornaday won by a length and threequarters from Brodick, which was half A length in front of Marble Bell. Time 1.3 „4-D. Narrow Neck was favourite. County Handicap.—Farrow 1, North Loburn 2, Scrap o’ Paper 3. Also started: Jaffna, Miss Luoullus, and Torchlight. Won by a head. Time 1.32 2-5.

Manaia Handicap.—Night-time 1, Infante 2, Lightning 3. Also started: Tama-a-roa, Namutere, Battleplane. Won by half a length. Time 1.16 1-5. Parahaki Handicap.— Shortland 1, Bezant 2, Eslhonia 3. Also started: Arrowfield, Knighton, Annaroon, Tireless. Won by three-quarters of a length. Time 1-29. RfIASTERTON MEETING. (By Telegraph.—Press Association). MASTEHTON, Friday.
