moted annually between teams representing shops and trades- The proceeds of the coming game are to be devoted to the Bailey Ward fund. A team of 30 piayers under the auspices of the 'French Rugby Union will sail from France on May 15 next, and after touring through Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, will return to France in September, 1922. The return journey (says the Athletic News.) will be made via America, and two matches will be played in California and two in Canada. The expenses of ttie trip are being guaranteed by Ihe Australian, New Zealand, and South Taihape made a public presentation f.o Mr E. A. Bellis, who played in Ihe three Test matches against Ihe Springboks. The Mayor. Mr Joblin, in presenting a gold watch and chain, classified the guest as not only the best forward in New Zealand, but the best in the world. The railwaymen of Taihape also presented the footballer with a razor and strop. African Unions. THE LEAGUE GAME. SEASON'S WIND-UP. • The League game so far as it affects Harriilton will be officially brought to a close on Saturday evening with the first annual banquet which will be held in the Toorak Chambers, Victoria, street. The executive of the League are sparing no pains to make this event a great, success, and (it is hoped that it will be very largely patronised by players and supporters of the game. An excellent musical programme has been arranged for the occasion, and an enjoyable evening's entertainment is promised. Tickets for the banquet, at 3s 6d each, can be obtained from the secretary, Mr F. C. MacDonald.
