N.S.W. BASIC WAGE
♦ EMPLOYERS' ACTION AWAITED. (United Press Association.) Received October 11, 5.5 p.m. SYDNEY, October 11. The new basic wage declaration is not regarded very seriously in unionist circles. The opinion is expressed that it is an attempL b>' a few employers to reduce wages, and it is thought most of them will not consider it worth while to apply to the Arbitration Court for a reduction of such a small amount as 3s weekly. However, action on the part of employers generally, and what steps will be taken in regard to the Civil Service and railway employees in the matter, is awaited wjth considerable interest.
