QUEEN CARNIVAL
. , YE OLDE ENGLISH 1 FAIR. BAND QUEEN'S BIG EFFORT. A bazaar and carnival in aid of the Band Queen was opened this afternoon in the Winter Show Buildings, Ward Street, by his Worship the Mayor, Mr ,i. a. i-ow. Large stalls laden with many varied articles of the useful, toothsome, and artistic, order are arranged to good effect in one section of the buildings, and in addition there are many side shows ami the usual accompaniments to a bazaar. There are lioup-las and guessing competitions in great number, and a children's toy pump. A boxing ring has been creeled, and. under the control of the Hamilton Boxing •.Association, bonis will be run through. Following are some of the stalls with the names of those in charge;— Sweet Stall, St. I'eter's Ladies' f.uilrl; flake stall, Mrs Cobb and party; Needlework Stall, Mrs Lowi-y and part;.-; produce stall, Mrs Croxford and party; doll stall, Mrs Taylor and parly; jumble and book stall, Mrs Xixon and the Fire Brigade Flail. The afternoon lea department is uiider the care of Mrs Bennett and party. The Hand Queen Executive, led by the secretary, Mr E. S. Cross, have evidently pill a great deal id" work into Ho' affair, and doubtless their efforts will he amply rewarded. The Hamilton Band will 1"' in attendance each evening. Children's danrins and competitions will also be a feature.
