TRAGEDY AT NUKUMARU
FARM Eli MURDE&S WIFE THEN CUTS HIS OWN THROAT. FAMILY OF SIX LEFT. (Bv Telegraph.—Press Association.) WANGANUI, Wednesday. The Wanganul police have been advised of a sad tragedy at Nukumaru last night. A farmer named Luke MoG.>riu.".n murdered his wife, cutting her th"oat with a razor- He then cut his own throat. It is reported that McGorman and bis wife quarrelled about eight o'clock at their home. The wife rushed out and <".m along the road, but was ovetaken by her husband, who cut her throat and then dragged the body to the side of the road. McGorman then proceeded to an adjoining paddock and cut his own throat. Mrs McGorman's dead body was found this morning, also .McGorman. The latter was still alive, but died almost immediately.
McGorman was about 51 years of age and his wife 36. They had a family of four girls and two boys.
