A conference between the Thames borough, • (lie Thames Homily, and the Ihmraki Plains County Council washelj 10-day to discuss the firehlighl menace. The country representatives said that the demolition of hawthorn would entail great expense, besides the loss of shelter for stock. Several were not satisfied that lirehlight was spread by hawthorn. Ultimately it was decided that (he only satisfactory way to lackle the. problem was nationally, and a resolution was passed asking the Government to consider the matter and bring down legislation.
