TE KOWHAI. Tennis IVlcc'lncj. The annual meeting of the Te Kowhai Tennis Club was held in ilie iiatl on Wednesday evening, Mr S. Handley presiding. The balance-sheet showed that the clnh was substantially in credit and the members’ subscriptions were fixed at 7s fid for men and 5s for ladies. The following officers were elected: President, Mr It. Hall; secretary, Mr S. Handley; treasurer, Mr A. Hunt: committee, Mesdames R. Stewart, W. Liminer and T. Nicol, and Messrs It. Stewart and W. Lirnmer. It is intended to tar and sand the courts immediately and lo commence play on October 20. The School. Miss A. E. Paterson has been promoted to the Teringamutn school, and Miss G. Turney lias been appointed lemporarily to fill the vacancy; Miss K. O’Connor has also been attached to the school as probationer. Queen Carnival.
Considerable interest is being taken in Hie carnival and ofTorts on behalf of the Rugby princess Airs A. Livingstone instituted. A dance was held last Friday and a football match between Te Kowhai and a Hamilton team will he played on Saturday on Ihe local ground.
