BURGLARS DISTURBED
AN £XCIT!N3 CHASE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. An exciting chase occurred last night when two burglars were disturbed in an attempt to ritic a. safe in Hie premises of Messrs Johnson and Smith, motor body builders.
The burglars were operating on the safe, being unaware that Mr Smith was working on the hooks in Hie next room. Smith heard the noise and investigated, hut the burglars made u rapid exit from the rear of the factory and over fences. 'file police were quickly on the scene aifd made a search, hut without
result. 'l’he safe was closed, hut not locked, and the burglars were disturbed tiefore they had completed their overhaul of the contents.
