FARMERS IN THE ASCENDANCY. (AN UNPREGED ENT ED POSITION. [ ' (Austral,in and N.Z. Cable Assn.) WASHINGTON, October 4. —-i The Administration is greatly concerned at the growing power of the 'Farms’ Political Group, which now controls Congress with over a score of Senators and about 100 members of jibe House of Representatives. The 'administration leaders are unable to diare ct the legislation, the Senate is now unable to pass the Revenue Rill, and the House cannot, proceed. It is the first time in American history that, a !powerful legislative group lias controlled Congress. Only four measures have been passed during the past six 'months —namely, the billion dollars’ farm export credit emergency tariff, prevention of train exchanges, dealing i in-futures, and the control of the parking industry. Five other measures to be forced through will benefit farmers.
