s — -4. HAMILTON SALE. The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report:—At Hamilton yesterday we had more than an average yarding of cattle and pigs, hut sheep, especially fats, were in small supply. The beef pens were filled and competition fairly steady, although values were not quite equal lo the previous week. Best steers made from £9 to fit 10s, ligh er weights £0 5s to £8 J2s fid, cows and heifers £5 3s to £fi (Is, fresh conditioned £2 10s lo £3 15s. store cows 12s fid to £1 ss. A line of extra good Equality two-year Hereford steers from the south, hut somewhat lacking condition, sold under fair cornpelilion from £3 Is to £3 15s. Empty heifers were yarded in fair quantity, hut bidding was somewhat erralip under the hammer. Good quality 18-monlhs Shorthorn made up to £fi, others £5 to £5 7s fid; Jersey cross, same age, £7. Yearling Shorthorn? made up to £5. No good yearling sleers were yarded. Inferior lots sold- at advanced rates, making from 17s to £1 ss. Competition for sheep was dull and lifeless. Very few fats wore yarded; forward wethers made from ifis [o 17s Id. Pigs were again penned in large numbers, hut values appreciably declined.
