DUSTY GREY STREET

NEED FOR WATER CART. ANOTHER VEHICLE NEEDED. The rfusty state of Grey Street. Hamilton Fast, promoted a dozen residents of the thoroughfare, last night, to ask the Council to allow the watering cart to visit the thoroughfare a little more frequently. Foreman Mnlcahey said there were only two watering carta in the borouarh, one of whicti was at Frankton. The cart retained in Hamilton could not effectively keep the dust, down on both sides of the river. Cr H. E. Tristram described the thoroughfare as one of the, dustiest he knew of. The cart should visit the thoroughfare more. If it could not then the hose should be put on regularly. Cr Brind thought a regrading of the road would assist in keeping down the nuisance by gathering up a lot of the loose sand. Cr. Tjdd said there was an unexpended loan out of which the work might be -coped with, and it had been suggested that a motor lorry might be converted and a tank fitted for the purpose. The matter was referred to tbe Works Committee.
