THE PRINCE'S TOAST
"TO THE BRITISH EMPIRE AND COMIHONSENSE." "If I were calling for a toast tonight, I would give you 'The Britten Empire and Goinmonscnse,' " remarked the Prince of Wales at the London Chamber of Commerce dinner, lie congratulated I tie Chamber on the work which had been accomplished- on hehalf of Empire trade and what, it had done in the direction of resettlement of ex-Service men. "The resettlement, and employment of my old comrades-in-arms is." he wen; on, "a matter which I have very deeply at heart, and I must, thank you for the efforts you have made, for them." The Prince added that it was their duty to keep cheery. "I feel sometimes it is harder to keep cheery now than it was during the war, but we still have Ihe great, united empire, and 1 feel sure that British trade is going to expand and multiply. I am sure British commonsense will overcome all our present difficulties. Commonsensc implies a spirit of give, and lake, and the making of the best of things," concluded Ihe Prince, amidst hearty cheers.
