4—. • GOOD PRICES FOR JERSEYS. The siixth annual sale of pedigree cfittle was conducted at the Claudekinds Showgrounds yesterday. The entry of hulls comprised some 330 head. There was a good attendance of buyers. The sale, taken as a whole, was a very successful one. Jerseys a traded principal competition, but Shorthorns and Krieslans also sold well. There was a large yarding of Jerseys, fur which competition was steadily maintained. The top price of the sale was 95 guineas, which was realised (or yearling hulls on account of .Messrs l«\ J. Saxby, Ohaupo Road, and W. 11. Ilollistcr, Palcrangi, respectively. Other yearlings all brought satisfactory prices, ranging outside the particular nslances quoted, up to as high as 7"> guineas. A number of the bulls were too small for herd requirements immediately, a direction in which a demand was in existence where sailed ininuils were yarded. Several older bulls sold from 50 to 80 guineas. In Shorthorns there was a demand for good bulls, a two-year-old on account of Mr J. Fisher, of Pukerimu, •ealising'SOigns; other two-year-olds stld at prices ranging from iSgns to 2(igns. Yearlings sold from 13gns to 26gns. Satisfactory prices were also realised for Friesians. A two-year-old bull bred >y Wlicwcll Bros, fetched SOgns, and )thers-ranged up to as high as 30gns, .vhile good'yearlings sold from Ogns to iOgns, 3gns to Bgns being realised for nferior sorts.
