MARKET REPORT. The Farmers' no-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd . report:— Beef. —Considerable improvement has been observed during the past week, but there seems little reason for anticipating any marked advance, as large importations arc drifting through from other districts.

Mutton.—Very little is al present coming forward, but despite this the market is still dull, although value-; locally seem well B ahead of Weslficld quotations. Store Cattle.—There are indications of a general forward movement, not very marked so far certainly, but nevertheless clearly apparent. Forward bullocks are the subject of inquiry- Freshconditioned cows are meeting with improved competition everywhere*. Empty dairy heifers have apain returned to favour. Yearling steers are slill rather unpopular, although at present values no class seems likely to prove more profitable. Store Sheep.—The inquiry for store sheen is weak. Ewes with lambs at foot, as was anticipate'!, are drawing inquiry, and buyers are willing to inspect any pood lines offering. Preference lies, of course, with the Blackface and Leicester lambs. Dairy Cattle.—Thero is still a strong inquiry for all pood dairying animals. It must be admitted, however, (hat great numbers of inferior and low-condition-ed sorts are being offered, and these for the most pari, are not required. Pigs.-—These are still in strong supply, and also in strong demand. Buyers from outside districts arc operating, and In consequence competition is spirited.
