A YOUNG ADVENTURER, (By Telegraph.—Press Association). THAMES, Monday. George Brookes, aged 14, employed on a farm on the Ilauraki Plains, disappeared last Wednesday. He apparenlly walked to Corornandel, where he hoarded a big launch and put to sea. The engine was useless, so he hoisted a sail. The police we- informed, and set out. The boy \va* overtaken sailing merrily towards Auckland, having nearly crossed the gulf- lie had eaten only a few biscuits for five days.
