AUSTRALASIAN WATERLOO

FIXTUJRE COMMENCES 78 DOGS IN THE FIRST ROUND. LARGE ATTENDANCE OF THE PUBLIC The Australasian Waterloo coursing fixture, the first to be held in New Zealand, was commenced at the Hamilton Coursing Club's enclosure at Frankion this morning. A total of 78 dogs p - d'l up to contest, the principal event, and as the dogs are drawn from all p-.u'ls of the Dominion and a strong contingent from Australia is also taking part, the best talent is al the enclosure. The unpropitious weather of the past few days took a turn for the belter this morning, and while there was a strongwind blowing, the conditions were otherwise favourable for the meeting. Some excellent coursing was witnessed in the first round of the Waterloo, the hares being in good condition and capable of giving the dogs active work.
