CRUSHED BY A TREE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. Frederick Bayiiss, labourer, a married man, aged 40, living at Addington, died to-day from injuries received by being crushed by a falling tree at Taitapu yesterday.

A WAGGONER'S DEATH. BLENHEIM, Thursday. Samuel Paton, aged 51, a widower with five children, a waggoner, was thrown from his scat to the road and received injuries resulting in his death in the hospital. The brakes failed to hold when descending a hill, and the vehicle ran away.
