The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co,, L>td., report: At Hamilton yesterday we had a large entry of sheep, but only a moderate entry of cattle. In general terms the tone of the market was dull. Beef was much on the basis of last week. Steers made from £8 2s 6d to £10; cows, to £8 15s; three-year steers (small entry) £5 to £5 17s 6d; two-year steers, £3 to £3 lGs; twoyear empty heifers, £3 15s to £4 15s. Fat sheep were extremely dull and Hie bull-; Of the offering was passed in. The top price for wethers was £1 (medium weight); store wethers, two-tooth, 14s 3d. Lambs were in -very fair demand, making up to 14.% lOd for forward sorts: stores from 9s 6d to 10s Od. Ewes in iamb seemed in botLer demand, although values did not improve to any great extent. Pigs sold at about last week's rates, baconers realising from £4 10s to £7 10s; porkers, £2 10s to £3 15s: slips, 26s to £2 2s 6d; weaners, 7s to 225.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton yards, on Thursday, July 28, as under: —There was a large yarding of sheep, including a good number of fats. The demand for fat and forward sheep was wry dull, and the majority yarded were passed at, auction. For store sheep t.Frc demand was fair. During our principal sales we sold a nice line Of 312 sound-mouthed in lamb to Southdown ami Leicester rams at 21s; cull ewes in lamb at 10s, store lambs at 9s Gd; forward conditioned wethers, 15s 9d to 18s 9d. There was a medium yarding of cattle. For beef the demand was lim'JUcd and values were low. Wo sold prime bullocks up to £l2; Tat cows.
