TEACHERS FROM CANADA
THREE ARRIVE BY NIAGARA. ONE FOR HAMILTON EAST. (Bv Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Friday. Pursuant to the policy of the Minister of Education in reference to the inter-change of teachers between New Zealand and other portions of the British Empire, three Canadian lady teachers arrived by the Niagara to-day to take positions in the Dominion for one year. They were met by Mr Garrard (Senior Inspector), Mr Purdie 'secretary of the Auckland Education Board), and Mrs Ferner (member of the Board). The Director of Education, Mr Caughley. sent a message of welcome. Miss Tracer, from the Strathcona School, Winnipeg, takes service under llic Wellington Board, vice Miss Hargreaves, who is proceeding to Canada; Miss Lucas, of Lord Selkirk Junior High School, Winnipeg, goes to Nelson; and Miss McQueen, of the William Whytc School, Winnipeg, has been appointed temporarily infant mistress at Hamilton East.
