PURCHASE OF RAILWAY SECURITIES (Australian anl N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received July 27, 5.3 p.m. WASHINGTON, July 26. President Harding lias sent a message requesting Congress to broaden the powers of the. War Finance Corporation, enabling it to buy railway securities now held hy the Director of Railroads, so that the funds may be available to settle the debts to the railroads without Treasury appropriations, also so that the Corporation may extend financial relief lo the farmers.
