LEAGUE OF NATIONS
MEETING IN SEPTEMBER. AUSTRALIAN REPRESENTATION. MR HUGHES WILL NOT ATTEND. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received July 27, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, July 27. It is uncertain yet whether Australia will be represented at the League of Nations meeting at Geneva in September. Mr Hughes certainly will not attend, but he may appoint a deputy. Questioned to-day he replied that he had not made up his mind, but he would probably visit France on August 11 to settle the New Hebrides question on the lines already indicated, and make a presentation to the Amiens Cathedral. He would also discuss commercial matters with the Prance Government.
