REPORTED FRENCH OVERTURES. TO THE UNITED STATES. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) WASHINGTON, March 10. Although Hie officials refuse to com. ment on Hie Paris despatch, stating that the French Ambassador to Washington is endeavouring to induce Mr Harding to accept a modified League, it is felt that Hie report actually represents Hie situation. It is understood that France is anxious to have the United States in the League with almost any reservations safeguarding American interests.
