LEAGUE OF NATIONS
INTERNATIONAL BLOCKADES. REFERRED TO A COMMISSION. TURKISH MANDATES POSTPONED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received February 21. 10.50 p.m. PARIS, February 23. The Council of the League of Nations has constituted an International Blockade Commission, which will study the application of Article 16 of the Covenant. The Commission will include representatives of Britain, France, I Italy and Japan. The Council decided to hold an International Conference at Genoa at the end of June, which will inquire into the question of the exploitation of women and children. On the motion of Mr A. J. Balfour, the Council decided that the discussion on the mandates of certain countries previously belonging to Turkey be postponed till next session.
