The House of Commons devoted a sitting - -to another unemployment debate, arising out of Mr T. •). McNaniara's Hill to increase insurance payments. Mr dynes urged that the offer of 18s was an affront. The benefit could be doubled by mean- <>f a State loan. Mr M. Harlow replied that the trade i unions never paid more than 15s weekly, and usually lbs or 12s. so thai lhe Government's 18s was not ungenerous. The Hill was read a second time.
