FIRE BRIGADE APPEAL
HAVE YOU CONTRIBUTED LAST FEW DAYS ENTERED ON. COLLECTING CEASES WEDNESDAY. The appeal which was launched some little time ago to raise funds for the dependants of the late Fireman George Prince, a victim of the recent engine smash in Hamilton, will close definitely so far as the actual collecting is concerned on Wednesday of next week. JI, was reported at a meeting of the Fund Campaign Committee this morning that the amount in hand and in sighl would reach £1250. Various sources from which donations were promised \t-ere mentioned, which. In addition to the general collection, would ensure the sum mentioned being reached. In connection with the motor sports, which will be held at Claudelands tomorrow, if, was decided to station firemen outside the gales and at Ihe aeroplane's starting point with authority to collect, on behalf of the fund. The various entertainments which have been organised in connection with Hie fund will he gone on with, an approximate estimate of the returns expected from such quarters being made in the figure indicated above as the fund's total. Those who have not' so far given to this very deserving appeal are asked To do so within the remaining few days.
