Grass top-dressed in February and March (February preferred) will respond more quickly to Super, or a mixture of Super and Guano. Dairy cows and other stock are therefore helped considerably if this method is adopted. Especially is this noticeable when feed Is going off In quantity and quality. In the late Summer and early Autumn grass and clover usually shed a lot of seed which if stimulated by early top-dressing will assist to thicken up the pasture. Provided top-dressing is done at the time specified the old grass will be given a big start and stock v. r ill be helped through the winter, when they need good nourishment. Another most Important advantage to the farmer If he carries out these suggestions is that the grass will be made to grow at least a fortnight earlier in the Spring. We therefore urge farmers to try this plan as It is to the mutual interest of the grazier, the dairyman, and the Farmers' Co-op.
