IN BRITISH YARDS NO WARSHIPS ON THE STOCKS. 1 FIRST TJK3 FOR 250 YEARS. (United Service.) February 5, 5.5 p.m. LONDON. February i. The Pall Mall Gazette says that after the launch of the cruiser Effingham shortly at Portsmouth naval construction In England will be at a standstill, there being no vessel on the stocks elsewhere. The situation is without precedent for 250 years.
