ADJUSTMENT IN AUSTRALIA. (United Press Association.) SYDNEY, February 5. The Chamber of Commerce discussed a suggestion by the Minister for Customs for adjusting the conversion basis formerly adopted for the assessment duty and the question of refunds. Jt was decided to withdraw the writs issued by merchants for the recovery df excess duty paid under protest. The Minister's suggestion was that refunds iK; made of overpaid duty on goods unsold in the warehouses on the date of the High Court's decision, all other trensaclions prior to tins decision to be wiped off the slate.
