SUPPLIES FROM AMERICA 50,000,000 DOLLARS WITHDRAWN. BY BOLSHEVIK -AMBASSADOR. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received February 4, 9.15 a.m. NEW YORK, February 3. The Assistant-Secretary of the Treasury has admitted that since the fall of the Kerensky Government and" the assumption of control by the Bolsheviks the Ambassador Bakmetieff, the representative of the Claris! and later of the Kerensky Government in Washington, withdrew 59,000,000 dollars from the United Slates Treasury, I lie sum being provided as Russian credit by the Liberty Loan Acts and war measures. The manner in which Bakmctieff utilised the money is not revealed. The matter threatens to become a scandal.
