The omission of Armstrong from Ihc Victorian eleven is arousing widespread indignation. Both Hie Age and Argus are devoting leading articles to the subject. The general opinion is that the omission is due to a personal feud between Armstrong and the selectors. TEAM AGAINST VICTORIA. (United Press Association.) The Marylebone Cricket Club has circularised umpires, [minting out that owing to the starting of the cricket matches on Saturday it had become Hie recognised custom to mow the pitch on Monday, when umpires would be required to he present. They were rdso informed that they must not On any account discuss decisions with players. The club lias decided that an umpire may stand on the off-side of Hie batsman’s wicket, with the permission of Hie captain of the holding I side.
